TRAVEL // SOUTH AFRICA, CAPE TOWN

Almost a month ago we traveled the first time to South Africa, one of the prettiest countries I've ever been to. South Africa has beautiful landscapes, an amazing nature and so much more to offer. We had the great opportunity so spend most of our time with friends who lived a few years ago for a long time in South Africa and they took us to many beautiful places. The first day of our trip was one of the best because we stood up early in the morning to catch the sunrise during our hike up Lions Head. I never hiked before and I had so much fun so that I couldn't wait to hike up Table Mountain but unfortunately, the weather was mostly cloudy so that we didn't hike up and used the cable car instead. In my opinion Lions Head was one of the most magical moments because the feeling on top of the mountain is incredible. We had so much fun and I would always do it again.

After Lions Head we stopped in a nice cafe and had a tasty breakfast. Afterwards we drove to Cape Point and during the drive I couldn't stop to look out of the window because I was really fascinated about the beautiful nature. Cape Point is nice to visit but not one of my favorite spots. On our way back home we stopped in Simons Town which is famous for their Penguins. Unfortunately, it was really crowded on this day so that we only took a short break but I am sure that especially kids will love this place.

During our trip we stayed in a traditional guest house called "Antrim Villa" close to the famous Shopping Center Viktoria and Alfred Waterfront. I really enjoyed the stay in our cute guest house and I felt really save. The service staff were always welcoming and really friendly. One we walked to the Shopping Center to discover the neighbourhood  and enjoyed the pleasent evening breeze. In the famous shopping center are many restaurants and nice shops. Outside you can take a ride in a big wheel.

After we really enjoyed our hike up Lions Head on our first day we went up Table Mountain on our fourth day but we used the cable car because of the cloudy weather. The ride with the cable car takes only a few minutes and the view is stunning. You should never miss Table Mountain because this was one of the best travel experiences I ever made.

On the next day we started early because we were picked up for a wine tasting in Stellenbosch. This town is really popular for its amazing wine and beautiful wine yards. We booked a whole day trip including wine tasting, lunch and cheese tasting and we really enjoyed it. I am not a big fan of red wine but we tried many white wines and they tasted amazing. In the end we bought some bottles of our favorite wines and took them home. Our guide explained us a lot about the wine history and brought us to four beautiful and totally different wine yards.

The highlight of our trip was the wedding of our friends. They married in a beautiful venue close to Cape Town on top of a mountain. It was an amazing evening with many nice conversations, delicious food and people from all over the world.

Thanks, Patty
