TRAVEL // GREECE, AFYTOS

Hey Guys,
I'm back in Dubai, with a lot of amazing memories about Greece. I had an unforgettable time with my parents in a lovely village called Afytos, close to Thessaloniki. It was my first time in Greece and I need to say that I really liked it. We stayed in Casa Afytos a small Boutique Hotel with around 16 rooms, a nice pool, a small fitness studio, and amazing service. They offered nice breakfast but usually, we made our own breakfast with local fruits and freshly baked bread. Always when I'm on holidays I try to eat many local products and especially fruits and seafood are amazing in Greece. I can really recommend our accommodation if you are looking for a calm and comfortable place to stay. The location is perfect because many restaurants and bars are in walking distance, you can find nice shops around and the beach is just around the corner.

What I really enjoyed about Greece is the nature and the welcoming people. Since I moved to Dubai I really miss forests, fresh air, and refreshing seawater and all that was possible during my trip what I really enjoyed. We spend a lot of time at the pool and on the beach and discovered the local markets with nice souvenirs and fresh fruits. One day we went to a shopping mall and visited some of the local boutiques. The weekly market in Nea Moudania was my personal highlight because of their amazing offers from fruits over clothes till spices and some small interior stuff. In Nea Moudania you can also find a beautiful church which stands out with its huge tower and beautiful ornaments. The Market in Nea Moudania is always on Wednesday and starts at 9am. I can recommend you to visit the market early in the morning to avoid the crowd.

I also had the luck to celebrate my 23rd birthday together with my parents in Greece. We started my birthday with an amazing breakfast with my favorite marble cake and lots of presents. Afterwards, my mum and I went to Thessaloniki to Cosmos Mall to stroll around and discover the shops. The Mall has around 200 shops and offers a food court with many delicious food stands. There are some shops like Zara, H&M, and Mango but they have also local stores and especially the shoe shops are amazing and the prices are really reasonable.
In the evening we drove to Sani which is a small village on the coast with a nice beach and a harbor with yachts. There are many high-end boutiques as well as really nice restaurants with a direct view above the harbor. The restaurant we tried had a good price-performance ratio and compared to Dubai everything was quite cheap.

I can definitely say that I want to come back to Greece but next time I would love to see one of the islands. I flew from Dubai to Thessaloniki with one stop in Istanbul and I need to say that I was really happy with the service and the operation of Turkish Airlines. If you have some questions about my Trip, our accommodation or the areas around, let me know :)

Thanks,
Patty
